Objetives

The management systems for wines generated by the wine industry have a significant economic impact on wineries and distilleries, as well as environmental problems throughout the territory of the South-West Europe. Consequently for this reason, new solutions are increasingly being demanded that pose an efficient management associated with alternatives that allow a revaluation of wine wastes, obtaining by-products with added value.

For this purpouse, the WETWINE project has been launched, a pilot experiment based on anaerobic digestion and wetland treatment of water and sludge, which puts into value the rational use of resources and their revaluation, as a result in a Fertilizer for the vineyard that will limit the generation of waste and the contamination of soils and waters of our territory.

Projetc´s specific objectives of WETWINE Project can be summarised as:

  1. Validate a management revaluation wine wastes system
  2. Obtaining a quality fertilizer product.
  3. Technological transfer and dissemination of the new technology in addition to environmental awareness.
